Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment results in a linear increase in a given stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished by a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which can boost their stats even more.

You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the most common method of upgrading equipment. These are items that can be inserted into equipment.  item upgrades  has slots for upgrading and some require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any equipment and offer lower bonuses than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats are after the upgrade, as well as any necessary components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you don't have enough of either.

The amount of upgrade components needed for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increase. However you can lower this cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Many weapons can be improved with a prefix, such as a rune, or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced with a suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. There are  upgrade item , however. the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods at all.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful instrument for communicating visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language, making them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also trigger a feeling of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph comes with a range of values that it could improve a stat by according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This range is not the actual amount at which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are admiring.

The majority of upgrade components inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you wish to remove a glyph from an item you must salvage it with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged with the glyph shards.

When you take away an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards that are part of the glyph will disappear. You can also apply the glyph to your equipment to add an extra benefit. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly instead of all at one time. This is useful for players who take a lot damage from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and can be found in various ways, including in mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an unspecified affix, which is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can be used to boost weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, however they can still receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is based on the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore,  item upgrader  that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than lower-leveled ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll a percentage chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

A reroll is a good option for upgrading an item, however, players must be aware that it will reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls required to increase it to its final ilvl. This is evident on Diadems and Rings, since they have no other options for raising ilvl.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more reasonable to let players pay for it using money or food items that allows players to modify their build without spending too much time and effort. However the paid rerolls aren't something the developers want to implement at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of upgrading the stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which boosts the healing or damage for the stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. When this is done the new item will keep its iLevel but it will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.

When upgrading items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. Most of the time, a higher roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions when a greater or special roll could occur. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique kind of item, it is likely to gaining an additional level.

Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading your equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the iLevel it's built upon as well as the number of levels to upgrade. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item will be at the maximum level of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will provide a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level, however. In general the effect of upgrading is increased by a value of +3.

Based on the item's level of base and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change as well. For example the weapon that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to an exceptional item is likely to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
